Biography
James Thatcher, was born in Marion, Ohio, in 1959. He has exhibited in one-person shows at galleries throughout the United States, particularly Michigan, Maryland and Washington, D.C., including the Washington Project for the Arts, and a collaborative installation with the artist's group, "COLAB" of New York City.



Mr. Thatcher's work has been featured in many group shows at museums and cultural centers in the United States and Europe, including the Corcoran Museum of Art in Washington, D.C., and the Fine Arts Academy in Budapest, Hungary. In addition, his work is in the prestigious collections of political leaders world-wide, including former President Bill Clinton, Lady Bird Johnson, Empress Michiko of Japan, former German Chancellor Helmut Kohl, and the late Chinese Premier Deng Xiaoping. His work is in the private collections of CNN news personality Paula Zahn, Frank and Mitzi Perdue (Perdue Poultry), and Richard K. Thomas of Newsweek Magazine.

Mr. Thatcher attended the Corcoran College of Art and Design, Washington,D.C., and received a diploma of fine arts in 1984.
